Choose the right bait for summer fishing!

Summer offers warmer water, more active predators and really fun fishing! But to maximize your chances, it's important to choose the right one for the right situation. Here are our best tips for the hottest fishing of the summer!

Topwater lures for hot days
When the temperature rises and the fish are hunting near the surface, topwater lures such as poppers and walk-the-dog baits can be extremely effective, especially on perch and pike during the early mornings and late evenings.

Jigs and shads - a classic all year round
During the day when the fish are going deeper, jigs are perfect. Use UV colors or glitter in murky water.

Vibration baits & blade baits
When you want to cover a lot of water quickly, vibration baits or bladebaits are really good to use. They attract fish from afar with their strong vibrations and are perfect when predators are active.

Hard baits
During the summer the water is warmer, which increases the predators' metabolism. They hunt more, move faster and are then extra triggered by a hard lure that whips forward with rapid movements.
